Christmas Letter

So Beeki and I have just sent out our Christmas letter. We're still learning how to do this and when to do this and all. So many of you aren't on our list yet. Even if you sent us one this year... But hey, we're trying!

So for everyone else, here's our Christmas letter, (You'll have to picture it printed out on blue paper with a little snowman in the bottom right-hand corner):

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Happy holidays from our family to yours! Scott and I hope that this has been a wonderful year for you, and we anticipate that next year will be even better. Though the year always seems to fly by, it is nice to take a moment to write our friends and family and catch up on the year’s events!

Scott had a pretty good year all in all. He made a little progress towards getting his MDiv, an endeavor that he will complete…before Beki gets her MFA. Professionally it was a banner year for him. In just two short years, he took the struggling Waco Hippodrome Theatre from the brink of closure to the most successful season it has ever seen. He has also been busy with civic work on the board of the downtown Public Improvement District and serving as the founder and chairman of the Downtown Merchants Association. All of his work in the Arts and on downtown development lead to him being named “Wacoan of the Year” by the city magazine, the Wacoan. So…yeah, a pretty good year.

Beki is officially half way through graduate school! She is currently pursuing her Masters of Fine Arts in directing at Baylor University. Early in the year, she traveled to London to reconnect with extended family and visit the Old Globe Theatre. She is very excited to be directing her thesis production, Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile, next semester as one of the university’s main stage productions. Grad school pretty much consumes all of her time, but when she does have a moment off she enjoys spending it with Scott and her cocker spaniel puppies, Bert and Ernie. She also enjoys visits to her hometown to see her family, which is convenient now that they all live in the same city! Beki is very proud of her husband’s accomplishments and finds it hilarious when people call her the “First Lady of Waco.”

Bert and Ernie had an eventful year, which to them seems really short due to the fact that they slept through most of it. Now that they are two years old (they are still puppies to us!), they enjoy eating food and playing fetch more than anything. They are very sweet and cuddly and keep Beki and Scott company as they work long hours into the night. (Scott and Beki work, not the dogs…)
They are the best doggies in the world!

In all, it has been a full and wonderful year, and we hope that yours was just the same.
We wish you the greatest joy in the year to come and invite you to join us in the
celebration of our Lord and Savior’s birth. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love,

Scott and Beki

What a great looking couple! Congrats on the successes of 2007. :) I ran into your friend Abbey W. while I was home for the holidays and filled her in on you being Wacoan of the year, and she wasn't at all surprised!

Merry Christmas and happy new year,
