Before and During

Posted by Anonymous On 12:45 AM

I've done it, Cachinnatees. I've lost 30 lbs. I asked you how I should celebrate, and while your suggestions were... um... useful, I decided to do something different. I decided to shave my beard and see what my face looked like these days.

I won't call these "before and after" pictures because I'm not done yet. I'll call these "before and during" pictures:

Here's a picture of a fat man surrounded by candy. This was as bad as it got. Ugh.

Yikes. How did I let that happen to me?

So I lost 30 lbs. and looked like this:

Better. Then I got down to shaving.

I thought maybe I'd stop with just a big gotee. But... nah.

I thought this look would make me look tough. But then I thought it might not be the best idea to make leaving me cross Beki's mind any more than usual.

This look ended up more like "David Crosby made it with Ned Flanders" rather than "My Name is Earl." So it couldn't stay.

In the end, I decided to go for the full shave and a little tweezing. You have no idea how close I came to shaving my head as well... but in the end I just couldn't. I've grown attached to my hair. So here's how it turned out:

Still a ways to go, but this is a good start. My face looks more like it should.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I'll give an update in another 10 lbs. Hope your week is off to a good start!

  2. Congrats, Cach.

You've clearly got the momentum going on this thing, and that's a huge part of the battle. A body in motion tends to stay in motion...

  4. Douglas Said,

Do we have permission to start referring to you as baby face Cach?

Not that permission would matter much, but I thought I'd ask.

  5. Anonymous Said,

Baby Face Cach sounds a little bit 30's era mobster-ish. Either that or like a bad name for a race horse. What do you think?

I should also report that I woke up this morning weighing under 200 lbs. for the first time in at least 2 years. 31 lbs. down! Woo hoo!

Cach, congrats. It's a hard thing to do, loosing weight. I almost didn't comment, mostly out of jealously, but then I looked at Seth's blog and felt a bit chastized.

Before Lil'E was born, I spent 18 months loosing 130 pounds through hard workouts and tight control of what I was eating. Since she was born, I've not found the time to work out like before the and weight creeps back. I hate where I'm at, but find it hard to balance being able to do what I need to loose and what I need to for my family.

Keep up the hard work and go for that goal. I'll deal with my own in God's time; yours is now man!

Euph, 130 lbs. is amazing! If you've done it before, then surely you know that it can be done. Let me know when the time is right and I'll provide all the encouragement that I can.

    Congratulations!

I wouldn't surprised if David Crosby hooked up with Ned Flanders, actually.

Haha, David Crosby...you look funny...i mean with a mustache. Way to go loosing weight equal to a small child!! I guess i should stop making fun because at the rate we're both going we're going to meet somewhere around 178 lbs...

  13. Alan Said,

Man, you can really tell a difference. Have you noticed a difference in your car's fuel economy???

I just couldn't resist. Also, in the 2nd to last pick have you noticed that you look a lot like Ron Jeremy. And the picture above that you look a lot like James Hetfield (the lead singer from metallica). But you could play the part of Jesus in any production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" any day of the week with that beard. Hands down.
