Below is a little video to show you what I did today:
Sorry for the lack of warning to those of you who are a bit squeamish about that kind of thing... but get over it! It saves lives! Suck it up and go help humanity! People, real actual people, live and die because people do or don't give blood. So go give some of yours away. You won't miss it and it doesn't really hurt. Go! GIVE!

7 Cachinnations
Go you!!!
I used to give blood all the time, but they won't let me no mo'! :( Spent too much time in the land of cheese and windmills, and now they think I'm tainted. *sniff*
If I had a gold star, I'd give it to you!

I'm due in 10 days. I'm in there every 8 weeks - no qualms about needles here. Although I do hate it when I get a new phlebotomist; I've had them dig in my arm trying to poke my deep veins for 10 minutes before they got me. My arms (that's right, both arms were stuck) were black and blue for a week.
When I have to give blood at a doctors office I insist that they bring in a phlebotomist instead of a regular nurse, otherwise they end up having to take blood from the veins on the back of my hand or even a knuckle (ouch!). And when they do that they use a butterfly needle - very small and it hurts.

Yeah, me too, stardiva... only in my case it was too much time in the land of shepherd's pie and Yorkshire pudding. It's discrimination, I tell ya!

Euph... proud as I am of you... I'm not sure the squeamish here will be overly encouraged by your comment!
I do feel you though. I've had newbie nurses before. But usually I'm very very well taken care of.
And Diva and Karen, our Bloodies, (the people in charge of our blood supply), are right to be suspicious of you! Everybody knows that windmills and shepherd's pie have strong ties to terrorism. We're watching you...

Well Cach... and I think Karen S. will agree with me here... Your comments and suspicions of us are
Rotten, Rotten, Rotten, Rotten, Roooottttteeennnnnnnn-uh!
(sorry for the inside joke, but couldn't resist! Wanna get on the inside? Check out Once Upon a Mattress at the Waco Civic Theatre this weekend!)
