The Big Book of Stereotypes Strikes Again

Posted by Anonymous On 10:34 PM

The following letter to the editor was recently submitted in our local paper:

Impeach Bush

Impeachment for a human foible was urged by the same Republicans who now defend more serious crimes against America and the Constitution by the Bush administration.

In this case for impeachment, those who garnered the evidence did not have to falsify any of it. Nor were great social snares set and millions of dollars wasted on extravagant legal machinations and manipulations.

Considering the dirty deeds and criminal acts against the once great American democracy, impeachment is too good for the imperial President Bush.

I have nothing to say about the content of the letter. I can't even think about politics these days. No, what caught my eye was her name. I'm almost completely certain that if you look up "Radical Hippie Chick" in The Big Book of Stereotypes™, the name given is Sissy Needell-Riffin. Priceless.

  1. Fork Said,

Okay, Sissy Needle-Riffin. So what would Sissy Needle-Riffin suggest we DO with President Bush?

If you consult the Big Book of Stereotypes, you'll find that "Dirty Hippies," "Radical Hippie Chicks," "Pot Smokin' Hippies," and the like don't actually DO anything nor to they posit actual useful solutions to any problems. They just rant and protest.

  5. And did she actually use the phrase "dirty deeds" in a serious context? I don't think you can do that.

I think AC/DC ended that phrase's efficacy with "Dirty Deeds Done Cheap."

  6. Moderator Said,

I used to work as a journalist in a college town. There were a handful of full-time, long term undergrads in their 30s - hippies -who showed up at every city council meeting to speak on behalf of the Vegan Free-Tibet Free Range Society or what not. It got really annoying really quick. And I'm a vegetarian and pretty liberal.

    Hippies. Pfft.

I sincerely hope this is tongue in cheek, Cach.
