Few things irritate me more than the breaking of those simple rules. I distinctly remember learning this stuff in the first grade. I balked a little over the "its" thing, but Mrs. Ramsay talked me into it. So, to expand a little on Professor Higgins, why can't Americans learn to write our own language?!

Mom was an English teacher. I know we're all warped in some way or another, but seriously, think about how that one went...
Mom: Where do you think you're going?
Me: Me and Dan are going to the movies.
Mom: Nooooo, "Dan and I are going to the movies."
Me: Well... alright, but I think Dan would really prefer to go with me.
*Sound of me being smacked*
