Babies Still on the Highway

Posted by Anonymous On 10:45 PM

I thought I'd heard the end of it. I was so sure that by posting my wife's effed-up fear that every container, bag, box, sack, and probably even beer bottle on the road might have a baby in it, I would be able to, (pardon the pun), put that baby to rest.

I was wrong.

I've made a huge mistake.

Shaun admitted to being a bit creeped out by the thought this past Monday.

B-Moo, my first Baylor friend, shared in a phone conversation with me what an amusing coincidence it was to see the post since she had the same fear.

Cachinnatees, this has gone too far. Is anyone else now plagued with fear about any and every item that appears on the highway? Have you swerved, even ever-so-slightly, to avoid that empty milk jug which you can see through?!? Have you changed lanes because there might be a chance that soda can is hiding a child? Has it crossed your mind that the HEB bag blowing like tumbleweed into your path could be emitting quiet cries and snuffles?

Seriously. Seriously, people. We can't live like this.

7 Cachinnations

  1. The Cliff Said,

I don't know what you guys are all worried about. I've begun aiming at things on the Baklava-ville streets now. I've decided that in order to come up with a true percentage of how many babies are actually in bags then one of us needs to run over things and see how many babies will be killed. So i've taken it upon myself to have a true cross section.

Right now we have 20 items (bags, boxes, soda cans, etc.) and 0 babies.

I'm a horrible driver anyway, so I've probably run over babies thinking they were bags. I mean sometimes, I struggle to stay in the lines! Babies in bags are really the least of my worries.

Nice word Man-Joy. It makes you feel both powerful and strangely insecure.
