Shaun Groves, a Christian musician and Baylor grad who is going to be playing at the Hippodrome later this month, has quite an interesting and sometimes provocative blog. His is called SHLOG. (Shaun's Blog, I'm guessing.) He thinks. He's a Christian musician who actually seems a bit uncomfortable living only in Jesus-land where he has no prayer of impacting those who don't know Christ. He's getting out there and doing some tangible good. He's asking others to think. Currently, he co-leads a group of young adults encouraging them to engage their faith and those around them. It's exactly what I've long been advocating among the Christian artistic community: artists who invest in the life and growth of their local body of believers while also spreading their art as widely as God will carry it.
Anyway, I obviously think pretty highly of him. He has a recent post that takes a look at Christian attitudes towards 'cuss' words. It's pretty interesting. Even more interesting is the comment section that it provoked. I left a pretty lengthy comment along with the rest. Be warned, of course, that a post about cussing involves a few cuss words. I doubt most of my friends and readers would take offense, but I have a strong enough sense of irony to follow my post up with this disclaimer. Ha! Enjoy!

Thanks for the *$%^#@ disclaimer. We appreciate it!! ;)

Heavens, no. I would be the last one to warn anyone of their flaws. I'd rather we worked on helping each other heal rather than helping each other cover up our scars is all.
And yes... John Reuben is a riot. And here at the Cachinnator blog, we encourage laughter. (So long as it is at the irony not the person of course.) One would think that 'white Christian rapper' is enough of a contradiction in terms that it wouldn't be attempted. And yet... it is by multiple people.
