The Rain in Spain

Posted by Anonymous On 2:23 PM

While in Spain, Beki and I got to see many wonderful things. One of these wonderful things was the Prado museum. (I confess that every time I heard someone say the name I thought they were talking about Prada. And that museum sounded like it sucked.) But no, we were visiting the famous classical masterworks of Goya, Velasquez, and Rueben. That is why we were so surprised to see what became our favorite painting:

Is that bird bringing St. Paul the Hermit a burger? That painting made us so hungry. We found ourselves praying daily in Spain for the birds to bring us burgers. Still I am waiting. I am reminded of the scriptures: "Oh blessed birds, when will you bring me a heavenly burger? Daily I have hungered. Nightly my tummy growls. Only grilled beef from the hand of God can heal me. Burgers alone are the reason I did not make greasy meat part of my Lenten fast." (1st Cachinnations 3:21) So even though it hasn't worked for us yet, the next time you are hungry, pray like St. Paul the Hermit for a bird to bring you a heavenly burger.

  8. Anonymous Said,

It does look something like a kolache. Or even a McMuffin of some sort...

Do I get some kind of fee for mentioning McDonalds in my blog? Because I'd be glad to change this whole post to say that the bird is bringing St. Paul the Hermit a Quarter-Pounder...
