When I think back to times when I've gone to a theater for a night of entertainment, I've often thought, "you know what this is missing? Free BBQ..."
What the heck? Is there no solicitation laws in Wako?
Too funny.

That was great--makes me miss Waco.

Notwithstanding the "second Saturday of the week" thing, what exactly is this "free barbecue" all about? Is it a church group trying to draw people there to hear the Gospel or join their church, or is it some civic organization, or somebody trying to market something to people, or... what?

Very astute question, Hammer.
As it turns out, he was trying to draw attention to Texas Black Republicans. He had literature with him and everything.
He didn't do very well...

Texas Black Republicans? Wow.
If he was one, then I'm guessing the other two were back at the kitchen working on the barbecue.
(Just kidding, I guess, sort of. I know it's a whole other discussion, but I'm under the impression that there aren't very many of them.)

Right you are, Hammer. He's a bit of a rarity down here. But to read the literature he was passing out, the state government is crawling with them. Oy. Politics.
