I'm not much of a napper. I don't nap well. I'd rather just stay awake and get something done. But I am aware of the science behind the "power nap."
For those of you unfamiliar, a power nap is a 20 minute nap intended to stave off sleepiness. It is most effective before 4:00pm and its duration must be kept under a half-hour or else deep sleep sets in and negates the benefits of the nap. That's the science anyway. Everything I know comes from Wikipedia.
Anyway, I took a power nap the other day. Bert and Ernie assisted me by sympathy napping. It was then that I noticed that they are intrepidly exploring the lifestyle of the "power wake™." They wake up twenty minutes at a time for a total of roughly six hours each day. It gives them a good deal of energy and an overall quality of life that they seem to think might benefit mankind. Their research isn't over. They plan at least a lifetime of it. They'd release their findings if they could read and write... or think anything beyond, "Hungry. Sleepy. Poop. Play."I'd love to participate in this grand experiment of the "power wake™," but so far work keeps getting in the way. Well, work and play. Work, play, and reading. Work, play, reading, and eating. Okay, so far everything has gotten in the way of my participation. Anyone out there care to give it a shot and let us know how it goes?

I prefer coffee to powernaps.
Maybe your dogs would like that also.

I have heard of the "Caffeine Power Nap." I dislike caffeine though. I prefer to just sleep.
And I'm sorry, Grant Miller, I don't drink coffee. Neither do Bert and Ernie. Ernie prefers beer and Bert likes margaritas.

I actually did this for most of today, but that was mostly due to a migraine that would not quit.
It's not all it's cracked up to be.

Power nap, a working man's best friend at a time of his need for recharging his energy quickly. It's amazing how a 20-minute nap can make a person smarter and it even boost his productivity.
