No, not that creepy as hell thing...
Earlier in the week, Fancypants and I were having a brief little interchange about The Fox and the Hound. Of course, she was talking about a different Fox and Hound, but that's the one I was thinking of.
Why, you may ask, did my mind jump straight to the Disney film? Well, it's because the music was composed by Buddy Baker, my great-great-Uncle. He wrote many tunes for Disney including the theme to the "Mickey Mouse Club," music from "Million Dollar Duck," and music from the TV series "Davy Crockett." So you see? The musical genes just run rampant in my family!
Theme Song:
But, Cachinnatees, I didn't just write this post to brag about the preeminence of my family. No, for what I'm not mentioning will make a big difference. Buddy Baker did many many wonderful things in his life that brought fame and glory to the Baker name. But he did a very shameful thing as well: he wrote "It's a Small World."So consider this a formal apology to parents of young children everywhere.
For the record, I would love to leave as my artistic legacy a macabre short film in which one of the little animated characters from the ride suddenly stops twisting and says, "I've been listening to that effin' song for 40 years and I'm not going to take it any more!" That will be the only spoken dialogue. The rest of the film will be the characters from different parts of the world using their culturally unique fighting styles to kick the living crap out of each other. Anyone want to finance my dream?I leave you with this, friends, because you know good and well that the freakin' song is already stuck in your heads:
Theme Song:(Warning: This song is more likely than Ahmadinezhad to spark WWIII.)

You sound like a drunk Nazi.
Speaking of Disney and relatives...I had an aunt from California who was one of the animators for Tinkerbell.

HA! That is so cool. Soooooo. Any chance of royalties coming your way in the ole will?....
Not to be a materialistic bastardo or anything but hey, the fam has got to be sitting pretty on some steady flow of royalty checks.
But seriously. I think it is so cool that you are related to the people who gave us such great moments in the American cinema.
Excellent.
btw. my buddy is one of the creepiest things created by the hands of man. The best thing to do back in the day, was find a poor slopb kid who had one and when he wasn't looking take a marker and paint scary Eybrows on him.
Quite a reaction.

Alas, no chance of royalties. Our branches of the family don't intersect much. I never even met him. My grandfather was the only one who actually knew him of my branch of the fam.
And actually, I had never even thought of it! I wonder who does have to kick it before I'm in line for some cash! KIDDING!
My Buddy is only second in creepiness next to Teddy Ruxpin. Remember that creepfest?

Cool.
To think that Brittany Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera all acted a part in your family's wealth.
Strangely enough, you can be thankful for Brittany and her contribution to society.

Did you know I was almost the My Buddy kid? They narrowed it down to me and the kid you saw in the commercial. My mom wanted me to look clean-cut so she got me a haircut the day before we met with the director of the commercial. They went with the rough 'n' tumble kid instead--not the kid whose mom is obviously in the airforce.

Susie, yes, I loved that part of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. As I understand it, the story goes that Tim Burton asked Danny Elfman to put in a cheesy song like that, and Danny agreed on the condition that it malfunctioned in the middle and blew up all the dolls. A man after my own heart. As I've said, I would love to see the creepy 'Small World' dolls attacking each other.
And I'm glad you enjoyed the singing.
Audioblogging is fun and free and easy! To the best of my knowledge, I'm the only one who does it quite like I do. Most people use the function to post something while they're on the road or whatever. I use it to add... um... spice to my posts. That's it... spice... Anyway, you can set up a free account here. Have fun with it!

I am acually working up a little audio blog myself. However it will be nothing like the art form that you have made it into.
