So I've recently been using Facebook to get back in touch with a lot of my old friends all over the world. I lived in Israel from '88 - '91 and my friends were from many different countries. I'm now back in touch with friends from Israel, Thailand, South Africa, the Philippines, Germany, and Argentina among other places.
So now I am greeted by the near-daily entertainment of seeing those friends leaving comments on photos and such in other languages. Generally I just notice it and move on. But there's one thing that still amuses me: my Argentine friend "laughs" in almost every caption. You know, like, "Hahahahaha!" Only, in Argentina, that's written, "Jajajajaja!" I know it's supposed to be pronounced the same, but I can't help but pronounce it like a Yank. And it amuses me.
Now when I see a funny picture on Facebook, I say in my head, "Jajajajaja!" (Pronounced like an American.)

My Spanish friends laugh the same way in their e-mails. There is also the jajaja's dear sibling: jejeje.
Que pases un buen 4 de julio!

Grant, now that Scott is at the helm of the Hippodrome, Waco is emerging as one of the new cultural centers of the world! ;)

I get the same thing from my Spanish-speaking friends. It makes me laugh too.
