A Recent Conversation with My Intern

Posted by Anonymous On 11:30 PM

Clay the Intern: I saw American Gangster last night. I Red Boxed it.

Cach: You Red Boxed it?

Intern: Yeah.

Cach: Can you do that? Use Red Box as a verb?

Intern: You use Netflix as a verb.

Cach: Yeah, but is Red Box culturally established enough to be used as a verb?

Intern: I think so. It's kind of the trashy adventurous side of DVD rentals.

Cach: Uh-huh.

Then later, Clay the intern gifted us with these memorable quotes:

Intern: I think that's the gayest Facebook status I've had in a while. It says, "Clay is looking forward to seeing the summer's biggest hit tonight...that's right, I'm clearly talking about Mamma Mia!"

Intern: I don't know what I'd do with myself. I'd be having dirty thoughts about my TV mother all day long.

  4. Red Said,

I think "Red Boxed it" can definitely be a verb - it's culturally established. There I've said it.
