Sorry about having to turn on word verification. An annoyance, I know, but the spamming of my blog was becoming vexing. I was getting splogged. Fancy... you know what to do.

To give credit where credit is due, I think Forky coined the term "getting splogged." I could be mistaken though.

Yeah, word verification is pretty much a necessary evil if you want to avoid sploggers.
They move in quickly and do their damage, often on slightly older posts, so that it goes unnoticed until someone starts reading through your archives -- though sometimes they are brash and step right into active threads. Well, they're automated robotic routines actually, so it's kind of silly to talk about them like real people. Real people write them and send them about their business, but they operate without intervention after that.
I work in IT for a living, so I'm accustomed to dealing with spammers, sploggers, hackers, crackers, black hats, script kiddies, etc.
Word verification isn't THAT bad anyway, it takes all of 3 extra seconds to post when it's on.

Sorry, Kat, I don't plan them. They just come out. Check back soon though... one big one came to me recently... you'll see.
